What is Educational Therapy?

Educational therapists help children and adults fulfill their learning and career potential. By developing personalized intervention plans and teaching strategies, educational therapists address challenges with academic skills, like reading, writing, spelling, math, organization, time management and study skills.
ET is a clinical level of tutoring similar to other therapeutic interventions such as speech and occupational therapy.
ET helps to build a child's self-esteem by showing them how they learn best, what their strengths are, and how they can advocate for themselves.
ET uses formal and informal assessments to find the underlying reasons for a student's difficulties with learning and then creates specific intervention plans based on those deficits.
ET bridges the gap between cognitive strengths or weaknesses and better academic outcomes with personalized assessments and treatment plans based on cognitive science and educational research.
ET is a combination of special education teacher, diagnostician, counselor, case manager and parent trainer.
“If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn.” Ignacio Estrada
